Training outside of staff hours is accepting that you are training at your own risk. It is vital that you are cleared to perform exercises at the gym and take part in strenuous exercise, if unsure, consult with a doctor before training. However, we have measures in place to make the facility a safe environment.
All equipment will have QR codes linked to tutorials on how the equipment should be used. We recommend that if someone is still not comfortable with a piece of equipment, they should wait until a member of staff can show them how to use it. The power racks and bench press stations all have built in spotting measures in the event someone was to fail a lift in them, ensuring safety.
There will be numerous fire alarms in the facility, when triggered, a loud siren will sound, indicating to members that they should vacate the premises and gather at the assembly point. The turnstile also has a fire exit button, when pressed will allow a quicker exit if an event like a fire would occur. A phone number will also be left around the facility to be called in case of an emergency.
Torpoint 24/7 Gym will also be fitted with 24 hour security cameras, with footage being reviewed daily. This allows the members to train peacefully knowing the cameras are watching out for their safety. We urge any member to inform staff if they see anything suspicious, so we can review our footage.
